To sit home and do nothing would have been a complete waste of a beautiful sunny day and a babysitter. What started off as a car ride for a quick bite quickly turned into an all day excursion in downtown Decatur filled with beautiful art, dodging the parking patrol, and delicious eats!Buckaroo said it was my plan all along. I say…I’ll never admit if it was. ;-)All I know is the sun was beamin’, I was queenin’ and this gorgeous pergola was calling my name…This is Leon’s.
I’m a sucker for patios and such. I just love to eat outside, especially when the weather is mild and the flowers are in full bloom. So when we walked up to this cute restaurant just after the lunch rush I was immediately intrigued. Then I read, “Gouda” on the menu board. “Alright babe. Let’s eat.”
Our server was super sweet. Our food came in a timely fashion. I ordered the flat bread I saw on the menu board.
Buckaroo ordered the brisket sandwich with frites (house fries). Lunch was delicious!
Those are all of the important things people want to know about a restaurant right? Okay well if not, here are five reasons you should go eat at Leon’s Full Service.
1. The casual atmosphere is very inviting whether you dine inside or out. Its location is fabulous if you are going to do more sightseeing and strolling.
2. They have a fresh menu that changes every Thursday. Mostly the changes include their fresh cheeses, some wines, and their charcuterie plate (smoked meats).
3. Their menu is well balanced. The vegetarian and carnivore alike will find some great eats!
4. The servers are knowledgeable of the menu and very attentive to the guests.
5. The FRIGGIN’ FRITES. THE. FRIGGIN’ FRITES. Trust me. So the thing is, they are regular french fries. Simple, seasoned well, and delicious…BUT they have a menu of sauces that come with these fries that are just amazing! Garlic Aioli (Buckaroo’s favorite), Mango Peppadew Ketchup, and my favorite Goat cheese Fondue just to name a few. The fries with this sauce spread is the star! I’m serious.
