I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser. We love to hangout and grill during the summer. We thought it would be fun to invite a couple over for a group date night. The perfect opportunity came when #CollectiveBias let us try out the new #DIGIORNO Design-A-Pizza kits!
Pizza is a great date night food and these new kits allowed me to focus more on putting the date together because when it came to the food, everything was already in the box! The great thing about having a date night for your friends at home is it’s much less expensive than going out, no one has to get caught up on dressing all fancy, they can just relax, and you can laugh as loud as you want without people giving you the “side-eye”. This date for four people cost us less than $25.00 from the food to the decor. Now you tell me where you can beat that price for four people? We love a simple and delicious date!! For this date night you will need:
(2) DIGIORNO® #DesignAPizza kits
Brown Craft Paper
Disposable Plates, Cups, and Napkins
Crayons
A dessert
Drinks
Awesome Friends! Decor: The decor is really simple. We set a long table out and covered it with brown paper like our favorite Pizzeria. We left out crayons so the couples could doodle, and leave flirty love notes with each other while the pizza was cooking. We drew on the table before hand too. Just to give them a push and let them know it was okay to doodle. You can even get a few aprons for everyone to wear so they can get comfortable cooking. The Food: Two pizza kits will comfortably feed four people so the varieties we picked up from the frozen section in Walmart were Pepperoni & Sausage with Peppers and Spinach, Tomato and Red Onion with Pepperoni. They also have other varieties to please even the pickiest eater. We knew with the kits there would be something for everyone, even those who don’t eat meat. This kit really turns your house into a pizzeria because you can pick what toppings are on it and how much. I like veggies on my pizza but Buckaroo is a meat man. So when we order pizza half of the pizza is meaty and the other half has veggies. Now we can do it right at home. This time of year we throw everything on the grill and pizza is no different. Oh you didn’t know you could grill frozen pizza? The smokiness on the cheese and the crunch of the crust gives it a brick oven taste. That’s going to be the best pizza you’ve ever had! After topping the pizzas, we left them on foil and placed them on the grill (not directly on the fire). Let them cook on 200 degrees for 30 minutes. The crust should be golden and cooked all the way through. Games: You can play games as you decorate the pizza! A date night needs games right? Here are a couple of ideas:
-Battle of the Sexes – the guys and girls can take teams and see who can come up with the tastiest pizza combination! -You’re one HOT Slice – each couple has to create their spouses “perfect slice”. Using the pizza kit they have to come up with a pizza slice that best describes their mate. Ex. Mandi – my perfect slice would be extra cheesy because I love to smile, a little pepperoni because I’m spicy at times, and spinach because I love money. (Why lie?) This is a fun game to exercise creativity and for the couples to learn about one another. -You can have PIZZA my love- Couples can write a loving message with the toppings on the pizza. We put XOXO on our pizza and LOVE and used the onions and peppers around it as “confetti”. Your guests will be talking about this for months to come, the food is going to be great and you won’t break the bank trying to pull it off. Enjoy!
