Super Bowl Party Plans
Here’s the breakdown—–>
PRE-GAME
• Set a budget
• Send your invites
• Plan your menu and grocery list
• Buy your game day groceries and decor

GAME TIME
• Prepare your menu
• Set up for your guests
• Enjoy your company
• Tag us in your game day pictures on and using the #chewsybowl hashtag.

HALF TIME
• Refresh food table (BEFORE the halftime show begins…what you WON’T do is blame Buckaroo and The Lady for you missing the hottest show of the year…or so we hear… ;-) )

5TH QUARTER
• Send everyone home happy and talking about the party of the year!!
• Clean up and crash in the glow of being the most awesome host ever!!

Your Assignment —–>
1. YOUR TEAM – As soon as you decide to host, recruit two or three friends that can help you make this a successful event. A few extra hands to arrive early and set up or stay a little late and help clean up won’t hurt.

2. INVITES – Give people enough time to plan to attend and yourself enough time to accept RSVPs for a headcount. We say 2-3 weeks is enough notice.

3. MENU – You want to give guests a nice variety, but at the same time not overwhelm yourself with preparation. Dips and spreads can always be made a day ahead. (We personally think they are better the next day anyway.) Include items that can be made earlier in the week and then frozen and finished on game day. What are some fan favorites in your house and among your friends and family? Include a few of those dishes.

Also consider if there will be children, vegetarians, people with nut allergies or other dietary restrictions on your guest list when planning your menu. Seven to nine menu items is a good spread for a party of 20 people.

Here’s a Sample Menu:
Black Bean Chili Egg Rolls
Taco Bar
Fried Cheesestick Wings
Hot Wings
Blazin’ Bleu Meatballs
Spinach Artichoke Dip with Pita Chips
Strawberry Moon Pie (No Bake Cheesecake)
Chewsy Brookies

4. DRINKS – Keep it simple. Limit the beverage selection to four drinks including bottle waters. If you are serving alcohol, consider 2 draft beers and one wine. Always include soft drinks or punch for your guests who don’t drink alcohol. If kids will be at the party, keep their drinks in a separate cooler.

5. DECOR – Make sure the televisions are set up where there is enough seating to accommodate viewers. Set your food tables up where they won’t block anyone from seeing the game. Go all out in the teams colors! We found these cool tablecloths and party packs from
Game Day decor
Add a few noise makers and you are ready to rock! The dollar store probably has tons of football themed decor, confetti, balloons, and disposable serving trays. Also, Mardi Gras is just around the corner, so you may be able to find cool beads in the teams colors in stores right now. Decide if you will decorate for the home team or a “house divided” and give the opposing team a LITTLE corner to cheer in…emphasis on little (hehe).

Make sure you have ample seating and the sitting area is clear of anything that can be broken by children or rowdy guests.

Above all, have a game plan and work it! You will be fabulous! Your party will be awesome! Relax, have fun, and enjoy your company. For more simple and delicious game day ideas, checklists, and party plans, to our newsletter! You can also check out our Game Day board on for more inspiration.
