Bacon Cheeseburger Hot Dogs

It’s Hot Dog week on Chewsy Lovers! People all over the country are going to be out grilling and chilling this weekend and so will we.

Hot dogs are one of the easiest and most popular barbecue foods there is. Because they are so popular it’s easy to get stuck in having the same ol’ dog. You know…ketchup, mustard, maybe some relish or mayo. Now there’s nothing wrong with it if that’s really what you want, but just know that you can teach an old dog new tricks and a little creativity might pleasantly surprise you! We got together with my friend Amiyrah at 4 Hats and Frugal to show you all week some simple and delicious ways to dress up your ‘dog’ this summer!

Today’s dog was inspired by one of Buckaroo’s favorite guilty pleasures, the Bacon Cheeseburger. He had this hot dog and said it was the best hot dog he had ever had. I will let you be the judge.
Bacon Cheeseburger Hot Dogs
Beef Hot Dogs
Hot Dog Buns
Mayonnaise
Yellow Mustard
Ketchup
Lettuce, shredded
Cherry Tomatoes, halved
Cheddar Cheese, shredded
Bacon, cooked and crumbled

1. Grill hot dog to desired doneness. For a good hot dog (in our opinion) you want the casing to be cooked until it’s nice and tight.

2. Butter the inside of the bun and toast, butter side down on grill,two minutes.

3. Spread mayo and mustard on bun. Place hot dog in bun and top with ketchup.

4. Layer lettuce and tomatoes on. Followed by shredded cheese and top with bacon crumbles. Repeat with remaining hot dogs,

**Of course turkey hot dogs and turkey bacon can be substituted and just as delicious!**
